Chocolate Waffles with Berries and Cream Cheese Topping
Crispy on the outside, warm and cakey on the inside, these decadent waffles are sure to get any day off to a sweet start. Be sure to have your Challenge Butter and Cream Cheese at room temperature to ensure the lightest, crispiest waffles.

Chocolate Waffles
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- ½ cup (1 stick) Challenge Dairy Butter, melted
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup fresh raspberries or sliced strawberries
Cream Cheese Topping
- 4 ounces Challenge Dairy Cream Cheese, softened
- 4 Tablespoons Challenge Dairy Butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups confectioners sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup whole milk
Chocolate Waffles

1Heat waffle iron.

2Beat eggs in medium bowl, using hand beater, until fluffy. Add milk, butter, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, and salt to bowl. Beat waffle batter until smooth.

3Pour batter from cup or pitcher onto center of hot waffle iron. Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops.

4Remove waffle carefully and serve with berries and cream cheese topping.
Cream Cheese Topping

1To make the topping, beat the cream cheese and butter together in a large bowl with a hand mixer until smooth. Beat in the confectioners' sugar, then add the vanilla and milk. Beat until the topping is smooth and set aside.
