Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) Challenge Butter
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • red and blue food coloring
  • powdered sugar

Directions

  • 1

To make the cookie dough, start by creaming the butter. Then gradually add sugar and flour. Beat until light and fluffy.

  • 2

Divide the dough into three equal portions. Add red food color to one portion and blue to another. Keep one portion uncolored.

  • 3

Center each portion of dough into its own gallon-sized plastic food storage bag and chill dough anywhere from 20 minutes to several days.

  • 4

Preheat oven to 350°F. Cut out stars with 3-inch star shaped cutters, and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes or until edges are slightly browned.

  • 5

Remove cookies from oven and dust them with powdered sugar, either with a shaker or by gently shaking them in a bag with powered sugar.
