Heat oven to 350°F. Butter 12" x 8" (2-quart) baking dish.
In large bowl, beat sugar and ½ cup butter until well blended. Add egg yolks; beat well. Sift together 1½ cups flour and ½ teaspoon baking powder; add to butter mixture alternately with milk.
In a small bowl, beat egg whites until stiff; fold gently into batter. Spread batter evenly in buttered dish. In a small bowl, combine all topping ingredients; mix until coarse crumbs form. Sprinkle evenly over batter.
Bake at 350°F for 28 to 32 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cut into squares; serve warm.
